Lawrence T. P. Molloy
President, Chairman of the Board, and CEO

Larry first came to work at CEM as a computer programmer in 1975. However, his interest and expertise was in sales, and he quickly moved into that area of the business. In 1982, he became Vice President of Complete Equity Markets, and subsequently moved up to Chief Operating Officer, and then President and Chief Executive Officer. During this time he developed many of the programs that we are selling today, as well as creating and implementing an in-house training program that was valued at 25 Continuing Education credit hours by the Illinois Department of Insurance. In 1999 he purchased the company from his father and became Chariman of the Board. He is a frequent guest speaker on the subject of Professional Liability at national conferences, and was Director of the Association of Lloyd's Brokers (1997-1998), as well as serving on the Association's membership committee and as chair of the wholesale brokers' committee. In his free time, Larry enjoys golf, bowling, and is an avid Chicago White Sox fan.

Our Sales Staff

Our account executives average over 20 years of service with Complete Equity Markets. Through their dedication to the company they have developed the expertise to provide our clients with the most knowledgeable assistance in obtaining the correct insurance for their needs. In addition, our account executives attend ongoing classes, seminars, and training to stay up to date on all aspects of the insurance industry.

Michael Powell, Senior Vice-President, Sales: Mike has been with CEM since 1982. He is on the Board of Directors of CEM, Senior Vice President of CEM, Sales Manager and responsible for the American Immigration Lawyers, Fire Protection Engineers, and the National District Attorneys Programs. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and golf.





Beverly Slawin, Vice-President and Senior Account Executive: Beverly's career with Complete Equity Markets began in 1980 as a sales assistant. She is currently a Vice President, as well as Account Executive for our LSC-Funded Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance, Lawyer Referral Services Errors & Omissions Insurance, Unemployment Compensation Insurance, Directors & Officers Liability Insurance, Commercial Crime Bonds, Media Professional Liability, Fiduciary Liability Insurance and Miscellaneous Errors & Omissions Insurance. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, decorating and spending time with her family.


Harriet Shumski, Account Executive: Harriet Shumski joined CEM in 1977 after working in a law firm in Wisconsin. She initially administered the Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance program for legal aids and public defenders. In 1981, she earned a Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University. Since 1997, she has been the Account Executive for NACDL and AACJ Criminal Defense Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance programs and the Public Defender program.




Melanie Javens, Account Executive: Melanie began employment at CEM in 1988 as our receptionist. She quickly made her way up the ranks first as a word processor and then as an administrative assistant. She obtained her property/casualty and Life/Health insurance licenses and went into sales. Being the happy and social person she is she also coordinates our employee outings and family picnics every year. She's always friendly and willing to help. Cindy Straka, Account Executive: Cindy has been with Complete Equity Markets since 1987. She obtained her Life/Health license in 1990, working principally with legal entities. In 1995, she obtained her Property/Casualty license. Today she continues to work with the legal community offering Office Property/General Liablilty packages and related coverages. She is also responsible for a General Liability program available to Safety Consultants, Mediators and Polygraph Examiners. Spare time is rare - her perfect picture of relaxation is a quiet lake in the north woods, reading a good mystery and listening to the loons.



Betsy Thomas, Account Executive: Betsy started with CEM in 1991 as an administrative assistant. In 1994 she obtained her insurance license and became the account executive for the mediator and arbitrator program. She is also responsible for the handwriting analysts and document examiner programs. Time with her Grandchildren is her top priority when outside the office. She is also lead baker for CEM.




Brenda Teems, Account Executive: Brenda Teems joined CEM in 1990, and now handles non LSC-funded Legal Aid Organizations as well as being assistant to the President. She is a former high school English teacher with degrees from Truman University, MO. In her spare time she enjoys her pets, reading, and just about any kind of puzzles and trivia.





Melissa Kilcoyne, Account Representative: Melissa has been with CEM since 2001 and is the newest member of our sales team. She offers Limited Practice Lawyers and Miscellaneous Attorneys Professional Liablitiy, as well as Judicial Liability. She looks forward to helping you get the best insurance services possible.
